71 into the gunfire, a Korean war movie is topping the movie charts nowadays in south Korea. It is about a true story of 71 student who fight hundreds of north Korean guerrilla fighters in front of a middle school. The incident is said to be happened in June 25 1950 during the time of Korean wars. The movie has already collected many critics. Directed by John H. Lee, this movie has nicely shown the emotions and bravery of 71 young student-soldier. Those 71 student are forced to join the south Korean army. They are brought in Pohang girls' middle school which was critical point for safeguarding the Nakdong river frontier. The high ranked officers isolate recently brought those 71 innocent student-soldiers on their own with the mission of safeguarding the area. Soon, the area was going to be attacked a large troop of north korean guerrilla fighters and high ranked officers knew that. Even though they abandon them and leave those 71 to be killed. But those 71 student-soldiers fight back bravely though they lack proper army training and equipments of war.
Kwon Sang-Woo and T.O.P are the major cast in the film. Kwon Sang-Woo plays the role of Ku Kap-jo who was convicted of murder. T.O.P plays the role of Oh Jung-Bum while Cha Seung-Won plays the role of Park Mu-Rang who is leader of cruel north Korean guerrilla fighters. Seung-Won character is shown as very dangerous and fearful.
Taewon Entertainment is the production company of 71 into the fire. CJ Entertainment has distributed the film. 12 billion won (10.4 million US$) is estimated budget of film. Filming was completed in 4 and half months. It was released in 16 June 2010. Till today it is in top of Korean movies countdown.
